PEFC certification

PEFC is the world’s leading forest certification system with over 200 million hectares of certified forests worldwide.

PEFC certification is a voluntary tool for forest owners who wish to demonstrate sustainable forest management and for companies that wish to support sustainable forest management while also documenting the traceability of the wood products they use in their production.

The PEFC system requires that the wood can be traced all the way through the supply chain, from certified forests through the processing stages to the consumer. Therefore, anyone processing or selling PEFC-certified wood must have a traceability certificate.

The Danish PEFC certification system for sustainable forest management is developed and maintained by PEFC Denmark.

ROLD SKOV SAVVÆRK A/S AND PEFC

Rold Skov Savværk became one of the first softwood sawmills in Denmark to obtain traceability certification in 2006.

The certificate has the number SA-PEFC-COC-014249 and covers the following scope: “Traceability certificate for sawmill organization without forestry operations for the production of sawn and regualised products, as well as by-products from softwood.”

Certification, under the volume credit principle, covers the two product groups:
Finished goods – timber, planks, battens and boards
By-products – wood chips, shavings, sawdust and bark
